Ice cream doesn't get any fresher than this. Milk used in Kilby Cream's ice cream comes right from the cows found on their farm - which has been around for over 55 years. The only time their products leave this family-owned and run farm is when you come in and buy some and take them home.

The family works hard to produce quality products while providing excellent care for their cows and their land. Here you can not only lick some delicious ice cream, you can visit farm animals, play in the playground and take home fresh cream, 2%, skim, strawberry, vanilla and chocolate milk in glass quart and half-gallon bottles, and fresh brown eggs.

Ice Cream
They offer traditional and no sugar added ice cream in over 23 flavors like: birthday cake (sprinkles in a cake batter ice cream), tractor tracks (vanilla with fudge and a peanut butter swirl with crushed Reese's cups) and the cookie monster (blue tinted vanilla ice cream with oreos, short bread, plain and chocolate cookie dough). They get funny farmy with their flavor names: Udderly Chocolate, Cow Dough, Mint Mookie, or Cowconut.

Seasonally, local ingredients (when available) are combined to create more flavors: strawberry cheesecake, black raspberry and caramel apple. They also make mooshakes, sundaes and banana splits, or perhaps you might want to try a snoball, iced coffee or a smoothie.

There's a selection of pints, ice cream cakes, pies and bonbons for you to take home. They can also accommodate special orders for ice cream cakes, pies, bonbons and 2.5 gallon tubs.

All of Kilby Cream's products start with their own cows: Jersey and Jersey/Holstein crosses; varieties selected because they produce richer and creamier milk. The cows are fed a grass diet along with corn silage and grain. In the winter months they are fed hay harvested from excess summer grass. They cows are never given growth hormones or feed which contains antibiotics. Like you, they are treated with antibiotics when they are sick, but their milk is held until the medicine has cleared their systems. The cows are housed in sand bedding, which is hygienic and reduces bacteria.

Milk
Their milk is pasteurized, but minimally processed so it retains its natural character. They sell cream line milk, which is whole milk which has not been homogenized - this allows the cream to rise to the top of the bottle. Homogenization forces the milk through small holes under pressure, which breaks up the fat molecules and keeps the milk from separating. Milk is sold in returnable, reusable glass bottles which have little environmental impact. Stop off here and try the cold fresh flavor that only a glass bottle can retain. If you live nearby, along with their milk, their ice cream is available for home delivery - wouldn't you like to wake up and find that on your doorstep!

Eggs
In addition to dairy products, you can buy farm fresh brown eggs from the free-range and pastured hens from nearby Stone Run Farm or the Kilbys' own chickens. The eggs are antibiotic and pesticide free - a local healthy alternative to store-bought eggs.

Kilby Cream completes the whole ice cream making process right on the farm, bringing you delicious, high quality ice cream which travels from cow to cone in just 2 days! Gift certificates, which are great for any occasion, are available

Stop the car and treat your family to an ice cream and take a break at Kilby Cream.
