Our next edition will focus on Pet Accommodations. We have checked every motel chain, independent motel and B& B along the exits of I-95 from Boston to the Florida border and listed where you can sleep with your pets. Look for the little doggie logo next to the motel name on our north and south maps and then refer to the chart. This edition also offers you 76 new stories to encourage fun along the way.
We are offering a 15% discount to everyone who orders and prepays for the book prior to publication date (October 1). Shipping will be free for 2nd and subsequent copies sent together. We will be pleased to autograph all of the books you order this way. Just let us know.
Please note that the new book Along Florida's Expressways by Dave Hunter continues down I-95 from where we leave off all the way to Miami. It is also available from us at the pre-publication price.

2 - FREE Golf!
Wow, free is good. If you are traveling before September 30th and like to play golf, the Hilton Garden Inns will give you a complimentary round (for two people) valid at any of 280 courses in North America. You must stay a long weekend, Thursday to Sunday nights, and can play Monday to Thursday after 10 a.m. or Friday to Sunday after 2 p.m. Request plan code GA. 3 - Movie Goddess
The first annual Ava Gardner Fest 2005 will feature FREE films, an art fair, and jazz bands on Saturday, October 1, in historic Downtown Smithfield along the I-95 in North Carolina. You will be able to watch the movies in the historic Howell Theater – the same theatre that a young Ava Gardner watched her first movies. This year’s theme will be “Show Boat” in honor of legendary actor Howard Keel, whose wife Judy Keel will be signing copies of his recently released biography, Only Make Believe with inside scoops on the golden era of MGM. A “Show Boat” exhibit will feature costumes and artifacts rarely been seen by the public. For more info: www.avagardner.org/avafest2005.html or e-mail Angela Lawson, Museum Director, at avainfo@avagardner.org

4 - Sheep Shearing Anyone?
For those of you who think New Jersey is only the turnpike full of refineries and traffic, you might want to veer off the road next weekend for this. On September 24 – 25, there is a Harvest Sheep and Fiber Festival at the Salem County Fairgrounds. You can learn to knit, chat with a vet, take part in crafting demonstrations and meet artists who work with fibers. To celebrate the annual shearing of the furry animals there will be workshops, and exhibitions include basket making, dog herding, sheep shows and of course, sheep shearing. For info: (856) 467-2889 or www.njsheepandfiber.org

What's inside Drive I-95 :
Look ahead exit by exit to see which motels (with 800 numbers), gas stations, restaurants, campgrounds, 24-hour pharmacies, auto mechanics, radio stations or radar traps are there. We share our stories of the road : history on I-95, museums, trivia, towns to explore or places to run the kids. These can be read for entertainment during the drive, and may entice you to stop, stretch your legs and discover someplace new.
